Dear Church,

It feels like the summer has arrived. The temperatures are increasingly warm, swim team is kicking off, and schools are wrapping up another wonderful year. I hope that everyone will get an opportunity to relax and unwind during the summer months. If you are looking for a good book to read, I want to recommend James K.A. Smith’s recent work, You Are What You Love, which is one of the best books I have read in years. During the upcoming weeks, I hope you will pick up this book that will undoubtedly help you become a better follower of Jesus Christ.

In some ways, the summer is an opportunity slow down here at the church. Wednesday nights are much less busy without the sound of children running through the Fellowship Hall. The weekday rhythm of the church even seems to relax a bit. But in many other ways, the summer is an increasingly busy time at FBC! Our youth ministry has their annual Summer Camp, which takes, literally, months to line up and execute. Our children’s ministry has Vacation Bible School where hundreds of children will be on our campus for a week where they can learn about Jesus and His love for them. I want you to pray for Melissa, David, and the countless volunteers that help to make summer a wonderful experience in the life of our community.

I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday morning as we continue in our new series, You Are What You Love. For those who are traveling this Memorial Day weekend, I hope you will take an hour on Sunday morning to tune in to our LiveStream which can be accessed from our website,

Grace and Peace,
