Dear Church,

I want to ask you a question. What is the mission and vision of the First Baptist Church of Augusta? Why do we exist as a unique group of people in our city? If you were to ask people in our church, I think that you would hear a variety of answers. In some ways, this is positive. But in other ways, not sharing a common mission and vision limits our ability to effectively communicate the Gospel to people across the CSRA.

What are we known for in the community? How do we live out the Great Commission, given to us by Jesus in Matthew 28? These are questions that I have been asking since I arrived at our church in April of 2017. This Sunday in worship, we are going to speak candidly about the mission and vision for our church as we move into the future. If you are invested in the life of our congregation, I need you to be in worship. You will hear about where I believe God is leading us to move as a community of faith.

It is an amazing time to be a part of FBC. I will see you on Sunday.

Grace and Peace,
