Because you keep asking for…
…classes on basic computer use, we are now working on a curriculum for just such a class. The plans right now are for a series of four or five classes that cover just the basics of using a computer. We would start with a look inside the ‘box’ to explain the function of some of the computer hardware. We would talk about various peripherals, where they connect to the computer and how to use them. We would present the functions of the operating system (Windows) and how it interfaces with the programs. A demonstration of several programs (word processing, email, web browser, etc.) would show how to use the basic features of each. Look for an announcement in the near future on the course you have been asking for…
Coming soon from Computers @ First
Classes are now being created and scheduled for early 2009. We are planning basic courses in Microsoft Word and Excel. Also in the works are courses on home computer security and going wireless at home. Sure to fill up quickly will be the internet classes – Bible resources on the internet; genealogy on the internet; bloggin’ in the here and now; user-friendly internet sites; and the soon-to-be-famous “Google is not just Google anymore”. Plus, a week-long computer ‘boot camp’ (working with digital photos) will be offered in June. Details of future classes will be posted here.
