Family Promise is committed to helping low-income families with children in Augusta and the surrounding area to achieve lasting independence by providing safe shelter, meals, and support services. Programs are designed to address the underlying causes of homelessness. FBC, along with several other churches in our area, provides shelter and food for three or four weeks during the year. Fifty volunteers are needed to set up the sleeping quarters in our Walton Building, laundry service, grocery shopping, food preparation, activities for children, drivers and hosts. Volunteers are also needed Monday through Friday, 8-5, at the Family Promise Day Care Center adjacent to Hillcrest Baptist Church. FBC supports Family Promise through our regular budget as well.
