Honduras (Mission on the Move) – With the commissioning of Ernie and Allison Sizemore as missionaries in 2012, we began a partnership with Mission on the Move in Honduras. The Honduras mission consists of an after-school program (grades 1-6), a youth discipleship program (grades 7-12), and university scholarships for qualified students. In 2015 the mission established a “gateway home” for transitional care for abandoned babies until Honduran families can adopt them. Mission on the Move provides holistic development for each child to include, but not limited to, discipleship and spiritual development; all school fees, supplies & uniforms; homework help & tutoring; basic medical and dental care; daily hot, nutritious meals; and hygiene supplies and instructions. Our congregation provides opportunities to members to serve in a variety of ways from child sponsorship to participation on dental, educational and construction mission trips. Contact Jim Walls regarding future trips and other ways you can support this missional effort.
South Dakota—Working through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Rural Poverty Initiative, we have served in Bridger, SD, since 2012, taking at least one trip annually. We work alongside Byron and Toni Buffalo and several other churches from around the US to bring hope to and share our love with the Lakota people on the Cheyenne River Reservation.
